About Angela & TLPS

Angela Halvorson, Owner and President

Passionate, meticulous, detail-oriented, organized, and committed to providing her clients with Top of the Line Professional Strategies and services to move them to the front of the line.

Angela launched TopLine Professional Strategies, LLC, in 2006 after many conversations with colleagues from the substance abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery field who were looking for a writer, editor, and researcher who understands the addictions and human services fields. What she quickly discovered was that as an accomplished writer, an organized project manager, and a leader with her unique blend of skills she would find a niche in the human services field.

Writing has always been her passion since the first time she put pencil to paper as a young girl and she is now lucky enough to have turned her passion into full-time employment. A natural ability honed through both civilian and military education, Angela has developed the skills necessary to turn her clients' thoughts, concepts, and ideas into words on paper. A 16-year veteran of the National Guard, her military time has also helped her to develop organizational and leadership skills that coupled with her writing ability make her an asset to any organization looking to stand head and shoulders above their counterparts.

Angela has worked in the human services field since 1993 when she started on this path as a prevention specialist working with at-risk youth in Springfield, Illinois, as a member of the Illinois Army National Guard's Operation First Choice program. From there she worked for the Illinois Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Association (IADDA), first as a program director for the Illinois Teen Institute and Operation Snowball, then as the CEO of the Association. It was here that she developed a deep commitment to the field of addictions and to working to ensure availability of prevention, treatment, and recovery services through the creation of sound public policy and research.

While she has a diverse portfolio, she approaches every project with the same level of commitment and competence, whether it is a lengthy research paper, a brief set of talking points, a full-color newsletter design, or a complex project with a multitude of moving parts.

She has also recently learned to balance her joy in her work with her wonderful role as an Army wife and mother. Angela resides in Leavenworth,  Kansas, with her Active Army husband and young son.

Angela is also committed to showcasing the amazing talents of other military spouses around the world. Through the network that is military spouses she has uncovered the amazing skills of others whose lives are committed to those who get up every morning, put on a military uniform for a living, and move around the world every few years. Many of these very talented people offer their services to support the mission and work of TLPS.
